Trail Planning & Design

Creating a great trail requires only one thing: planning.

The first step is to determine the desired trail features: scenic, wildlife viewing, heritage, fitness, etc.  These features are then identified and incorporated into the whole community design.  The end result is a desirable community amenity, not just a path connecting common areas.   

TCG EcoGuides staff includes naturalists, geologists, and historical experts to identify trail features, and also designers and recreation managers to create aesthetically pleasing trails built to last for years with minimal maintenance. 

Every path and trail hides a story just waiting to be told.  By planning ahead, a trail can become a true value-added amenity, not just another bullet point on a sales sheet.  

We helped the town of Sandyfield, NC, create a scenic wildlife-viewing path that also tells how early inhabitants used the area's natural resources.
